Description
xGenuine Porsche Body Panel Fixing Clip Fastener 99950798640
The Genuine Porsche Body Panel Fixing Clip Fastener 99950798640 is the original-equipment clip that secures body panels and trim exactly as the factory intended. These small fasteners do critical work — holding panels flush against vibration, heat, and road shock — and only the correct OE clip gives the precise retention force and fit the panel was designed for.
What the Fixing Clip Does
Body panels, liners, and trim pieces are located by clips that expand or lock into factory holes, pulling the panel tight and holding it there. The clip's dimensions, barb geometry, and grip range are engineered for a specific panel thickness and hole size. The 99950798640 is the genuine Porsche fastener made to that exact specification.
Why Genuine Clips Hold Better
Universal or pattern clips are close-but-not-exact: slightly loose and the panel rattles and works free; slightly tight and the clip breaks during fitting or stresses the panel. Genuine Porsche clips match the OE hole size and panel thickness precisely, seat with the correct click, and use UV-stable, heat-resistant plastic that stays flexible instead of going brittle. When trim is removed for service, replacing the clips is cheap insurance.
Signs Clips Need Replacing
Listen and look for rattling trim, panels that sit proud or have visible gaps, clips that no longer click firmly into place, and broken or brittle clips found during any panel removal. Reusing tired clips is the most common cause of a trim panel that will not stay put after reassembly.

FAQs
xWhy do trim panels rattle after being removed?
Almost always because the clips were reused. Clips deform slightly on removal and lose retention force, and aged plastic goes brittle. Fitting fresh genuine clips like the 99950798640 whenever trim is removed is the standard professional practice — it is inexpensive and it keeps panels tight and silent.
Can I use universal clips instead?
They may fit the hole, but universal clips rarely match the OE grip range and panel thickness exactly. The result is often a panel that sits slightly proud, rattles over bumps, or pops loose. For the small price difference, the genuine clip that was engineered for the panel is the reliable choice.
Is the 99950798640 a genuine Porsche part?
Yes. This is a genuine Porsche OE fastener made to the exact factory specification for dimensions, barb geometry, and material. Correct specification is what makes a clip seat with the right click and hold the panel flush for years.
How do I confirm this clip fits my Porsche?
Share your 17-digit VIN with our parts team before ordering and we will verify the 99950798640 against your exact model and trim application. The same vehicle can use several different clip types, so VIN verification ensures you order the right one.
