Genuine Audi Volkswagen Rear Bumper Tow Eye Cover Cap 8T0807441AGRU

Genuine Audi Rear Bumper Tow Eye Cover 8T0807441AGRU - Primed, Ready to Paint

The Genuine Audi Rear Bumper Tow Eye Cover 8T0807441AGRU is the factory trim cap that covers the towing eye service opening in the rear bumper of the Audi A5 and S5 (8T). This small genuine panel keeps the rear bumper's surface clean and continuous: it seals the tow eye recess against dirt, moisture, and road debris while preserving the bumper's original styling line. It is supplied primed (GRU), ready for professional painting to match your car's exact body colour.

Every Audi rear bumper has a threaded towing eye mount hidden behind a removable cover. When the cover is lost — commonly after a roadside tow, a bumper repair, or a minor knock that pops the clip fitment — the open recess collects dirt and water, and the bumper looks unfinished. The genuine 8T0807441AGRU cap clips back into the original opening with the factory contour, so the bumper surface reads as one uninterrupted panel again, exactly as it left the factory.

A missing or ill-fitting tow eye cover is easy to spot: a visible rectangular recess in the rear bumper, a cover that sits proud or rattles because its clips are broken, or a mismatched shade from a previous non-genuine replacement. Because this is a small, precisely contoured trim piece, pattern copies often sit slightly off the bumper surface or refuse to stay clipped. The genuine Audi cover matches the original profile and clip positions, so it seats flush and stays put.

Note that the GRU suffix means this cover is supplied primed, not colour-matched. It must be painted in your car's exact paint code by a professional body shop before fitting — primed plastic will not match any factory colour as supplied. Fitting is a straightforward job for a body shop or a careful DIY owner once the cover is painted: the painted cap simply clips into the tow eye recess in the rear bumper, engaging the factory clip positions. No tools are required for the cover itself — the work is in the paint preparation and colour match. Check that the bumper's receiving clips are intact before fitting, and replace any broken retainers so the new cover seats securely.
