xProduct Overview
The Genuine Mercedes-Benz Engine Oil Filter Housing Assembly A2721840100 is the original oil filter housing for the M272 V6 petrol engine, complete with the oil cooler interface. It mounts at the front of the engine, carries the oil filter element, and routes oil through the cooler. On ageing M272 engines the housing’s seals harden and leak, Mercedes-Benz addressed the issue in service information LI01.00-P-069058, and renewing the complete housing is the lasting repair.
Part Numbers & Reference Codes
OE part number: A2721840100. The housing seals are serviced separately (oil cooler seal A2721840280; housing-to-timing-case seal A2721840080). Always order and verify by this exact Mercedes-Benz part number and your VIN.
Vehicle Compatibility & Fitment
This housing is listed for Mercedes-Benz models with the M272 V6 petrol engine (2.5L, 3.0L, and 3.5L), including the C-Class, E-Class, CLK, SLK, ML, R-Class, GLK, and S-Class of the 2005–2015 period. Application depends on the exact engine variant, so confirm it matches your vehicle by sharing your VIN with our parts team before ordering.
Key Features & Benefits
- Exact factory fit: original casting, ports, and mounting faces, so the housing bolts up and seals exactly as designed.
- Complete assembly: the full housing with its oil cooler interface, rather than a bare casting that leaves tired components behind.
- Ends the classic M272 leak: a new housing with fresh sealing faces cures the front-of-engine oil leak these engines are known for.
- Genuine Mercedes-Benz quality: original material specification, made to withstand the engine’s oil pressure and temperature cycles.

xFrequently Asked Questions
Yes. The A2721840100 is a genuine Mercedes-Benz OE part — the original oil filter housing assembly for the M272 V6 engine, made to the factory specification, not an aftermarket copy. Its casting, ports, and sealing faces match the housing originally fitted, which is what makes the repair seal properly and stay sealed.
It fits Mercedes-Benz models with the M272 V6 petrol engine (2.5L, 3.0L, 3.5L), including C-Class, E-Class, CLK, SLK, ML, R-Class, GLK, and S-Class models of roughly 2005 to 2015. The M273 V8 uses a different housing, so send us your complete VIN before ordering and we will verify the part for your exact engine.
The housing seals harden with heat cycles until they no longer seal, and oil weeps from the front of the engine — a well-documented M272 / M273 issue covered by Mercedes-Benz service information LI01.00-P-069058. If the housing is sound, seals alone may cure it; a warped or repeatedly leaking housing should be renewed complete.
Yes. Always fit fresh seals with a new housing — the oil cooler seal (A2721840280) and the housing-to-timing-case seal (A2721840080) are the two critical joints. Clean the mating faces thoroughly, torque the fixings evenly and in sequence, and check the whole area for leaks with the engine at operating temperature before signing the job off.
This brand-new genuine part is covered against manufacturing defects, and your statutory consumer rights apply in the UAE. If the part arrives damaged or is incorrect due to our error, we will replace or refund it. We recommend VIN verification before ordering — contact us if you are unsure about fitment.
