xProduct Overview
The Genuine Porsche PDK Gearbox Oil Filter 9A731718900 is the original equipment transmission oil filter for the Panamera 971 with the 8-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox. It sits inside the transmission oil pan assembly and traps microscopic debris and clutch material, keeping the fluid clean so oil pressure stays stable and shifts stay smooth. A clogged filter starves the hydraulics and can cause harsh shifting, so it should be replaced at every scheduled gearbox oil service.
Part Numbers & Reference Codes
OE part number: 9A731718900 (also written 9A7 317 189 00). Related parts for the same service are the transmission oil sump gasket 9A731707000, the drain plug and the pan bolts. This listing is for the oil filter only, not the complete service kit, so order the gasket and fresh PDK fluid alongside it.
Vehicle Compatibility & Fitment
This filter fits the Porsche Panamera 971 with the 8-speed PDK gearbox, covering the 971.1 cars from 2017 to 2021 and the 971.2 cars from 2021 to 2024, as listed in the Fitment Details tab. Always confirm your gearbox type against your VIN before ordering, since Panamera models were offered with more than one transmission.
Key Features & Benefits
- Genuine OE filter: the exact filter specified by Porsche for the 971 8-speed PDK gearbox.
- Clean fluid circulation: traps debris and clutch material before it can reach valves and clutch packs.
- Stable oil pressure: a fresh filter keeps pressure and fluid level consistent for smooth shifts.
- Direct-fit service part: installs in the transmission oil pan assembly at scheduled gearbox maintenance.

Installation Position & Fitment Notes
The filter fits inside the transmission oil pan assembly, underneath the gearbox. Access requires removing the oil pan, so the sump gasket must be replaced at the same time and the gearbox refilled with the correct PDK fluid to the specified level. Never reuse a crushed or distorted pan gasket.
Product Brand, Type & Condition
Brand: Porsche, genuine original equipment. Type: PDK dual-clutch gearbox oil filter for the Panamera 971. Condition: brand new, sold individually, one required per gearbox service.
What's Included in the Box
This listing includes one (1) Genuine Porsche PDK Gearbox Oil Filter, OE part number 9A731718900. The sump gasket, drain plug, pan bolts and transmission fluid are not included and should be ordered separately for a complete service.
Installation Requirements
Fitting is a workshop job: raise the car level, drain the gearbox, remove the oil pan, replace the filter and sump gasket, then refill with the correct PDK fluid and set the level at the specified fluid temperature. Check for leaks at the pan joint and road test to confirm smooth shifting.

xPORSCHE FITMENT GUIDE
| Model | Model Year Range | Engine |
|---|---|---|
| Porsche Panamera (971.1) | 2017 – 2021 | 8-speed PDK gearbox |
| Porsche Panamera (971.2) | 2021 – 2024 | 8-speed PDK gearbox |
Technician's Advisory: Replace the filter only as part of a full gearbox oil service, with a new sump gasket and fresh PDK fluid, and set the fluid level at the specified temperature. A filter changed without fresh fluid, or fluid changed without a new filter, leaves debris in the system and risks harsh shifting.
Important: This genuine part is listed by OE part number 9A731718900. Exact compatibility depends on the model, engine code and production date. Send your complete VIN to the European Autospares parts team and we will verify this is the correct gearbox oil filter for your vehicle.

xFrequently Asked Questions
It fits the Porsche Panamera 971 with the 8-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox, covering 971.1 cars from 2017 to 2021 and 971.2 cars from 2021 to 2024. Confirm your gearbox type from your VIN before ordering, since Panamera models were offered with more than one transmission across the range.
No, this listing is for the oil filter only. A complete PDK service also needs the sump gasket 9A731707000, a drain plug, pan bolts and fresh PDK fluid. Order those parts alongside the filter so the workshop can complete the service in one visit without reusing old sealing parts.
Replace it at every scheduled gearbox oil and filter service, typically every 60,000 to 90,000 km depending on use and the service schedule for your car. Change it sooner if leaks appear at the pan joint or shifting turns harsh, since both can point to contaminated fluid or a restricted filter.
A clogged filter restricts fluid flow, which can drop oil pressure and cause harsh, delayed or slipping shifts. Debris that bypasses a blocked filter can also damage valves and clutch packs. Replacing the filter at service time protects the gearbox hydraulics and keeps shifting smooth and consistent.
It is a workshop job rather than a driveway repair. The oil pan must come off, the sump gasket replaced, and the gearbox refilled with the correct PDK fluid at the specified temperature. A workshop with the right tools can complete the service, check for leaks and confirm smooth shifting afterwards.
