xGenuine Porsche Interior Protective Cover Trim Panel 9646121140001C - OE Interior Trim Cover
A tired interior ruins the whole car. The genuine Porsche interior protective cover trim panel 9646121140001C restores the factory finish inside your classic 911, covering and protecting the original trim exactly as Porsche designed it. Made to the original specification for the 964-generation 911, it fits precisely, matches the factory look, and keeps the cabin feeling like a Porsche should — tight, quiet, and correct.
What the 9646121140001C Interior Trim Panel Cover Does
The 9646121140001C is a genuine Porsche protective cover trim panel for the interior. Its role is to shield the underlying trim, cover mounting points and panel edges, and present the clean factory finish Porsche intended. Interior trim lives a hard life — UV through the glass, heat soak in a parked car, and decades of contact all take their toll on 964-era cabins. This OE cover reproduces the original profile, texture, and mounting geometry, so it sits flush, stays put, and looks like it left the factory yesterday.
Signs Your Interior Trim Cover Needs Replacing
Failing interior trim announces itself: a cover that has warped, cracked, or yellowed with age, edges that lift or rattle over bumps, mounting tabs that no longer grip, or a finish that no longer matches the surrounding trim. On the 964-generation 911, more than thirty years of UAE sun punish interior plastics more than almost anything else. A loose protective cover can also expose sharp trim edges or wiring beneath. Replacing the 9646121140001C early keeps a small cosmetic job from becoming a full trim restoration.
Why a Genuine Porsche Trim Cover Matters
Interior trim is where aftermarket parts fail most visibly. Non-genuine covers rarely match the factory grain, color, or sheen — and on a 964, even a slight mismatch stands out against original trim. Clip geometry is the other weak point: pattern parts often need forcing, which cracks mounting points. The genuine Porsche 9646121140001C is produced to the original tooling specification, so the fit, finish, and fastening points are exactly right. For a car whose interior defines its value, the genuine cover is the only sensible choice.
Fitting the 9646121140001C Trim Panel Cover
Fitting an interior trim cover is delicate work best done by a technician experienced with classic Porsche interiors. Old trim tabs and clips are brittle, so the surrounding panels must be handled gently and any tired fasteners replaced at the same time. The new genuine 9646121140001C seats onto its original mounting points without modification. Because 964 interiors varied across model years and markets, confirm the exact application with your VIN before ordering.
