Check which component has failed before ordering, as a noisy or rough pulley bearing, a weak tensioner and a worn belt produce similar symptoms at the front of the engine.
It fits Discovery 3, also called LR3, from 2005 to 2009, Range Rover Sport L320 from 2006 to 2009, and Range Rover L322 from 2006 to 2009, in each case with the 4.4L V8 petrol engine only. It does not fit 4.0L V6 models. Send us your VIN and we will confirm before dispatch.
Listen for chirping, squealing or grinding from the front of the engine, and look for belt wobble, uneven belt wear or a pulley that feels rough or loose when spun by hand with the belt removed. A failing idler bearing can throw or shred the primary belt, leaving the alternator, steering pump and compressor undriven.
It is sensible to inspect the primary drive belt whenever this pulley is renewed, and to replace the belt if it shows cracks, glazing, fraying or contamination.
