Is BTR2985 a genuine Land Rover part?

Why do I need new retaining clips?

Retaining clips weaken or break when panels, trim or undertrays are removed for service. A broken or stretched clip lets the panel rattle, sit proud or work loose over time. Fitting a fresh genuine clip restores the factory grip, so it is standard practice to replace them with every panel removal.

Yes. Fitting a retaining clip is a simple push-fit job: align the panel and press the clip home until it seats fully. If the panel still moves after fitting, inspect the mounting hole for damage or a missing clip. Keep a few spares, as the old clips usually break when a panel comes off.
