Technician’s Advisory: The bush is a press fit: press the old bush out squarely and press the new bush in to the correct depth and orientation. Final-tighten the control arm bolts only with the suspension loaded at normal ride height — tightening in droop pre-twists the rubber and shortens bush life. Always check wheel alignment after replacement.

Yes. The LR051585 is a genuine Land Rover OE control arm bush — the original bush for the front lower arm of the Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport (L320), superseding RBX500432 and RBX500311. Genuine rubber compound matters here: the bush’s stiffness is part of the suspension tune, affecting ride, steering feel and tyre wear.
Knocking or clunking from the front suspension over bumps and when braking, vague or wandering steering, and uneven wear on the front tyres are the classic signs. On inspection the rubber will be split, perished or separating from its metal sleeve, sometimes with visible movement when the arm is levered.

Yes. The bush is pressed out of the existing arm and the new bush pressed in, which is far cheaper than a complete arm when the arm itself, its other bush and the ball joint are sound. The job needs a press or proper bush tooling, correct orientation of the new bush, and a wheel alignment afterwards.
