Yes. This is a genuine Land Rover OE mounting insulator, factory part number IAF500021, stocked under our code LIAF500021 and also catalogued under the later numbers LR091364 and LR092039. It is the original rubber transmission crossmember mount for the Discovery 3, Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport (L320), not an aftermarket copy.
It supports the rear of the transmission at the gearbox crossmember and isolates the chassis from drivetrain vibration. The rubber element carries the transmission’s weight and torque reaction while absorbing the tremors that would otherwise reach the cabin floor, seats and steering wheel as buzz and drone.
A clunk or thump when taking up drive, changing gear or coming on and off the throttle is the classic sign, along with excess vibration at idle and under load.
