Technician's Advisory: This plug is specified for 997.2 models with the X51 Powerkit — check the plug gap against the manufacturer’s specification, and fit plugs only into a fully cooled engine with a torque wrench.
Important: This genuine Porsche part is listed by OE part number 99917023290. Exact compatibility depends on the model, variant, production date and equipment level. Send your complete VIN to the European Autospares parts team and we will verify this is the correct part for your vehicle.
FAQs
xFrequently Asked Questions
The 99917023290 is the genuine Porsche spark plug catalogued specifically for 911 (997.2) models with the X51 Powerkit. It carries the exact heat range, 1.6 mm electrode gap, and M14 x 1.25 thread specification Porsche validated for the Powerkit calibration. Manufactured by Bosch (FGR 4NQE) to Porsche OE standards, it is not interchangeable with generic 997 plugs.
Classic symptoms are rough idle, hesitation under load, falling fuel efficiency, and misfire fault codes. On the 997.2, electrode wear and carbon build-up degrade the spark gradually, so performance fades before a fault code appears. Because plugs wear as a set, replace all six together rather than chasing individual misfires one plug at a time.
The 99917023290 fits 2010–2012 Porsche 911 (997.2) Carrera, Carrera 4, Carrera S, Carrera 4S, Carrera GTS, Speedster, and Targa 4S models equipped with the X51 Powerkit. It should not be assumed correct for non-Powerkit 997.2 cars or other 911 generations. Send us your VIN before ordering and we will confirm the exact plug specification for your engine.
We strongly advise against it. The X51 calibration was validated with this exact plug specification, and a generic plug with a different heat range or gap can cause pre-ignition or fouling in these engines. Counterfeit plugs are also a known problem. The genuine 99917023290 is inexpensive relative to the engine it protects, making it poor economy to substitute.
This is a brand-new genuine Porsche part in factory packaging, covered against manufacturing defects under the standard genuine parts warranty, and your statutory consumer rights apply in the UAE. If the plugs arrive damaged or incorrect due to our error, we will replace or refund them. Confirm fitment by VIN before installation, as fitted plugs cannot be resold.
